Band Bios
- Kerry Pribbenow - Guitar, Vocals

Besides Witness, who are some of your favorite artists/musical influences?
WOW! You got a minute? Current influences would be Chris Tomlin- He just get folks rockin’; Jeremy Camp- His passion for Jesus Christ seems to come through every word he writes; Matt Redman- What an incredibly deep faith and heart for the Lord; David Crowder- The ‘Frank Zappa’ of Christian Music (sorry Dave…I just mean he’s an incredibly creative spirit); Barlow Girl- 3 diminutive ladies that make a very large sound and impact for Christ; Casting Crowns- Music ministry done right…they’ve not lost focus on why they do what they do; Big Daddy Weave- Lotsa southern rock rhythms and fun…all delivered with incredible humility; I’m liking the heart of Hawk Nelson too and the band Downhere for some good spiritual truth and ministry through music; In Christian music, there’s just so…much! I can truly appreciate a 200 year old song for the truth it contains, and I can really dig the ‘hot licks’ of Lincoln Brewster, 1000 foot crutch, Kutlass, etc…it’s all good, not because of how it sounds…but because of who it glorifies!

I get a tremendous vision of passionate worship in 2 Samuel Chapter 6…as King David is bringing the Ark of the Covenant back to Jerusalem (having learned his lesson), he’s dancing and worshipping before the Lord ‘With all his might’…in his jammies!...and he doesn’t care what anyone else thinks! I don’t know that it always looks like that, but sometimes it absolutely should! David was the consummate worshipper and if we look at the scripture, we get a sense that he ROCKED…LOUD!

What’s the most important thing you’d like people to know about your relationship with Jesus Christ?
God has shown me some amazing things, in some amazing circumstances, but at the end of the day what’s important is that I am child of the Living God, saved by His grace and continually being sanctified in my foolishness to become the image of Jesus Christ…blows my mind to think about it!

Why do you think Christian music is important?
People don’t always respond to spoken word, and there’s a level of communication in music that’s more pure and belies the heart…not always, but often. Personally, I can be speaking near an open door, and most folks (and kids in particular) would just stroll on by…but if you hear a rockin’ guitar, you just want to poke your head in to see what’s goin’ on!

What do you like to do when you’re not playing music?

Riding my Harley, creating things…sometimes with wood, sometimes with steel, sometimes just on paper, but in all things God has given me this incredible need to give back to Him, by using the gifts He’s given me to create

What person has influenced you most in your faith? How?
I’ve been all over the world literally but the most stunning change in my faith came through a developmentally disabled woman in St. Cloud, MN (probably in her 60’s) who on a -10 degree day, was out picking up aluminum cans on her 3 wheeled bike, (I assumed for the money), like it was the most natural thing in the world. She was undaunted…it’s (I assumed) how she made her living. I was caught up in the beauty of her spirit and her humility…’for God provides for the lilies of the field and the sparrow’…it made me realize, I do too much complaining and take too much for granted…I really deserve nothing

What are you working on right now…personally?

I’m trying to hear God more clearly…realizing that my pride and foolishness get so loud, I can’t often hear well, and I’m making SURE I’m
spending time in his Word…being self-fed is really important!
